Add a game to your home screen
Adding a game to your home screen gives it its own icon, makes it open full-screen without the browser bars, and lets it work with no connection.
Before you start: open the game once while you are online and let it finish loading. Then follow the steps for your browser. Menus change a little between versions, so if you cannot see a button, look in the menu for "home screen" or "install".
iPhone and iPad
Safari (best)
- Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If you do not see it, tap More or View More first.
- If you see Open as Web App, leave it switched on.
- Tap Add.
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other browsers on iPhone
- Tap the Share button, or the browser's menu (three dots).
- Choose Add to Home Screen and confirm.
If you cannot find it, open the page in Safari and use the steps above.
Android
Chrome
- Tap the menu (three dots, top right).
- Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- Tap Install.
Firefox
- Tap the menu (three dots).
- Tap Install (or Add to Home screen) and confirm.
Samsung Internet
- Tap the menu (three lines).
- Tap Add page to, then Home screen, then Add.
Edge
- Tap the menu (three dots).
- Tap Add to phone (or Add to Home screen) and confirm.
Computer
- Chrome or Edge: click the install icon at the right of the address bar, or open the menu and choose Install.
- Safari on a Mac: choose File, then Add to Dock.
- Firefox on a computer cannot install web apps. You can still play in the browser.
Keeping little fingers in the game
A web page cannot lock the phone, but your phone can. On an iPhone use Guided Access (Settings, then Accessibility). On Android use Screen pinning (Settings, then Security). Both stop a child swiping out of the game by accident.
Good to know
- Progress is saved on your device only. If you clear your browser data or delete the icon on some phones, the game forgets its progress.
- On an iPhone, the silent switch mutes the sound effects (the voice still speaks), and sound starts after the first tap.
