Letter Trails

Ages 3–5 · free · no ads
Your child picks a theme, such as cars, dinosaurs, monsters or dragons, and traces the letters of one short word at a time with a finger. A picture and a voice show which word it is, so no reading is needed.
It is made to be gentle for small hands. Tracing starts very forgiving and tightens as your child improves, strokes can be drawn in any order, and going off the line does nothing: the line simply waits. There are no scores, no lives and no buzzers, and your child can repeat any word as often as they like.
It is a first step towards writing letters, and towards spelling, in a calm, no-pressure way.
For grown-ups
Hold the small gear for two seconds to open the grown-ups' settings, including how precise the tracing needs to be.
